Icesave offer one of the best-buy savings accounts for UK investors, according to one expert.
Rachel Thrussell, head of savings at moneyfacts.co.uk, said that Icesave's easy access Isa is "simple, straightforward and pays a very competitive return".
However, she added that some investors may be put off by the savings account's minimum initial deposit of £1,000.
For these people, she suggested savings accounts from Kent Reliance, Egg and Principality, all of which, she said, offered rates of 6.05 per cent with only £1 deposit needed.
Research by moneyfacts.co.uk also revealed that National Savings and Investments' Direct Isa had provided the best return of any savings account over the last three years.
Speaking on Monday, Bloomsbury Financial planning said that cautious savers should look at making investments in National Savings certificates, as you "get a real return of over one per cent, tax free, risk free and you get your money back".
