Skipton Building Society is aiming to encourage people to save by offering £25 worth of free travel money to individuals who open a savings account during the month of September.
To be eligible for the gift, people have to save £150 per month.
According to the society, research travel agent Thomas Cook shows the cost of a week's holiday is set to rise next summer and may top £500.
It is therefore hoping to help people get on their way to putting cash aside for a week in the sun in 2009.
The account has a 6.8 per cent gross interest rate and can be opened with a deposit of between £10 and £250.
Withdrawals cannot be made from the Special Saver Account and funds must be transferred to a current account before people access them.
It was recently reported by Abbey that holidaymakers have withdrawn some £50 million from their savings accounts this summer in order to afford some time away from home .
