Coventry Building Society has launched a new savings account, which also offers the chance to raise money for charity.
The St Cross Saver Account will raise funds for the Friends of the Hospital of St Cross.
Coventry cites 2005 research conducted by the Building Societies Association, revealing that over £5.8 million is donated to charitable causes each year through linked savings accounts.
Account holders will automatically donate one per cent of their average savings balances each year to the cause, with an interest rate of 3.75 returned to the user.
The account also allows customers instant access to their savings, through their branch, any LINK cash machine, or via online banking.
Colin Franklin, head of sales at Coventry, comments: "Affinity accounts are growing in popularity and they are an excellent way for people to give money to causes close to their heart.
"The Coventry is committed to serving its local community and this is just another way in which building society members can help support their local communities."
The Hospital of St Cross, in Rugby, states that it is committed to offering high quality care with leading edge technology.
