Chelsea Building Society has announced the launch of its new ClicknSave 30 savings account.
Chelsea hopes the ClicknSave 30's easy application process and notice period will have "widespread appeal".
In order to open the UK savings account, customers must download an application from the building society's website and have a minimum opening investment of £100 – the maximum being £250,000.
Once the UK savings account is opened, Chelsea customers will have access to gross annual interest rates of 4.9 per cent and monthly rates of 4.79 per cent.
Customers who choose the account will also be subject to a written notice period of 30 days for any withdrawal they wish to make.
Up to March 7th 2007, withdrawals from the UK savings account without notice will be subject to a penalty fee. This will be calculated as the amount of interest that would have generated on the amount withdrawn over a 30-day period.
After this date, no notice will be required on withdrawals and the penalty structure will be removed.
Chelsea Building Society is the sixth largest building society in the UK. It has 33 branches, most of which are located in the south of England.
