Norwich and Peterborough Building Society (N&P) announced the launch of a new variable savings rates 30-day notice savings account.
This savings account will offer savers a savings rate of up to 4.25 per cent gross, including an introductory bonus, on balances of just £1.
Gary Lacey, N&P's group product manager, said their research indicates notice savings accounts still make a sizeable proportion of the overall savings market.
"This, together with demand from our customers for a higher rate savings account, has resulted in the launch of our new 30-day notice account which will close a gap in our savings range," he said.
The minimum balance to open the savings account is £1, and the maximum investment is £500,000 per savings account.
With the monthly savings interest option, it may also appeal to retired savers wanting to supplement their pensions, Mr Lacay said.
The savings interest on this savings account is paid annually on the anniversary of the opening of the savings account.
The variable savings interest rate offered includes an introductory one per cent bonus for the first 12 months.
Savers can access their savings account online at all times.
